toward a theory on the Rule of Law

There is much written about the rule of law and yet the gap between law and ideal and law as real presents a dilemma of what to make of this concept. Beginning with a question of how one is to view their own identity in opposition to or in compliance with the law signifies the law is or has become something more than a set of rules, principles, or statutes. But how one perceives of the rule of law greatly differs among cultural and socio-economic groups. How then can the rule of law be universal and if not what mechanisms to we have to protect against the very abuses it was proposed to offset against despotism? On this page I provide my research for public legal education along with my scholarly work.
